Part of the upcoming year’s palette of a thoughtful, artistic colors, 2014’s shade of choice is radiant orchid. In a news release late last week, Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute said, “While the 2013 color of the year, Pantone 17-5641 Emerald, served as a symbol of growth, renewal and prosperity, Radiant Orchid reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination.” This illuminating color has already been incorporated in the spring 2014 runway shows of Juicy Couture, Yoana Baraschi, and recent up and comer Emerson by Jackie Fraser-Swan.

Radiant Orchid pairs well with 2014’s chosen neutrals of Paloma and Sand and will be a blossoming bright spot in street style as spring comes around.

Not sure how to add it to your collection? For a small introduction, spring 2014 shows are producing an abundance of colorful jewelry in the form of bright cocktail rings, bangles, and statement necklaces. We’d recommend a hint to pop a neutral print. It would also work well in color-block details, bindings and even trims. An unexpected radiant orchid zipper could really drive interest to your designs.

In short, we expect to see this incandescent color in everything from the runway at fashion week to street style this coming year. If you need help adding it to your collection, give us a call!
