Milan Fashion Week came to a celebratory close this past Sunday by celebrating the 50th anniversary of Vogue Italia. The festivities held at Vogue HQ welcomed fashion’s elite.

From editor-in-chief, Fanca Sozzani, to countless designers and top supermodels. For the first time the magazine opened its archives and digitalized images from Vogue covering the 50 years of lifestyle, history and the evolution of the country. Honoring the magazine in this form caused many to reminisce. Antonio Marras said “[it’s] like a general brushing up on fashion in school. You see photos that you remember and had forgotten. It’s a dive in the past but with an eye on the future.”

The cover for the 50th anniversary is one to marvel at as well. We’ve slowly been seeing models make a comeback onto mainstream magazine covers  but this is unlike what we’ve seen before. 50 for 50, some of fashions top models are shown on the pullout cover spread. Appearances from Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Amber Valletta and Karen Elson. Icons to angels, the issue features a bevy of supermodels is subtle sepia tones and tops this seasons dramatic covers.
