We are excited for the prints we saw marching down the Runway for Autumn/Winter 2017. While opulent damask and lavish embroidery may not immediately seem like ideal textiles for leggings, we can extract the elements and create dramatic printed leggings.
Here is a great example from the Red Valentino collection. Inspired by traditional embroidery and damask weaves, these dresses have a demure feel. By punching out the color into darker tones and colorblocking the waistband, we can take this same print inspiration into a more active feel. Creating damask inspired printed leggings.
This print is also using a damask weave style print. We were further inspired by the renaissance detailing and angles used on these runway looks. Slashing the printed leggings and adding mesh accents along the same lines.
At JLD-Studios we have no minimums on our sublimation printing. There is no reason not to experiment and try out some runway styling you wouldn’t traditionally think of for leggings. Find your favorite runway looks and send them our way. We’ll reinvent a print design that embodies your brand and the trend. Then digitally print them on any quantity of leggings you’d like. When we say no minimums we mean it!
At JLD-Studios we work to respond to all inquiries. Though some days it just doesn’t happen. Not receiving a factory response is one of the most common complaints we hear from new companies. We can’t speak for everyone, but here are some of the reasons our response times can lag.
1- Sheer volume of Inquiries
This is not meant as a humble brag. US manufacturing inquiries are on the rise. Which is great! Flip side is, we have a lot of responses to send.gbwhatsapp apk It may take a couple of days for us to get back to you.
Please keep in mind:
– We like to enjoy our weekends too.
– Many of us our working on different time zones.
– We can only send one response at a time and we try not to send canned answers.
– Most companies are in business to create business- we’re not ignoring you. Please give us at least 2-3 full days to respond.Sending multiple emails or calling repeatedly only adds on.
Want to float to the top of the list? Points 2 and 3 are key.
Do you think the choice of Pantone color Greenery was a subtle nod to our hope that 2017 would be better than 2016? After all, “The Grass is Always Greener.” Despite where you feel we’re heading for this year, the color of the year is as cheery as Kermit.
To embrace the shade our textile designers had a little fun with our print library. The cool shade of green is playing nicely with shades of aqua and navy blues. We even through in some gray to further neutralize the color. From ditsy florals to more laid back conversationals, greenery is accenting these prints very well.
Do you have an idea to mix this greenery shade from Pantone into your collection for 2017? We can help! At the 2011 Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week, Iris van Herpen changed the game when she debuted the first 3-D printed fashion gown. Her garment was a cutting edge piece with rigid, intricate white fabric scrunched to resemble a Rorschach test. This groundbreaking moment was named one of Time magazine’s best inventions of the year. (more…)

Sometimes the best things that happen in this world are accidents. That is what recently happened to Professor Mas Subramanium with the Department of Chemistry at Oregon State University. The bright blue color was stumbled upon during his team’s testing of new materials for electronic applications. Although this was back in 2009, the color is now being created to sell commercially. The color, named YlnMn, is created by taking the elements yttrium, indium, and manganese and heating them to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit, which is where it gets its name.
In the past, we’ve had in-depth discussions on the blog about some unfamiliar fashion industry terms (such as Flat Sketches, Grading and Technical Design Packages), but there are still so many words and phrases you’ll need to know if you want to really speak the language in this world—and we’re here to help!

The New Year is almost upon us, and PANTONE has recently released their 2016 Color of the Year. We couldn’t be more excited to announce that, for the first time ever, the PANTONE Color of the Year is a blend of two colors, and Rose Quartz and Serenity challenge traditional ideas of what is masculine and what is feminine in terms of color.
192.168.l.lWhen entering into any industry, there is always a new language to learn, and fashion is no exception. In fact, technical design packages alone contain several terms that may be new to someone just starting out, or even industry veterans. Tech packs include all the information necessary to communicate to a manufacturer how a product should be made, and if you’re at this stage now, you may have heard the term “flat sketch,” or “flat,” mentioned.
